Website & web application security

Website and web application security with Cloudflare WAF

If your website takes logins, payments, bookings or form submissions, it’s a target. We put Cloudflare’s network in front of it and tune the protections to your business — so attacks are stopped and real customers aren’t.

  • Plain-English guidance
  • Security built in

Is this for you?

Website security is overdue if…

  • Your site has a login, checkout, booking system or contact forms.
  • You see spam submissions, fake sign-ups or strange traffic spikes.
  • Your site runs on WordPress plugins, an online store platform or custom code.
  • You need PCI DSS, HIPAA or cyber-insurance controls for your web presence.
  • Your site slowed down or went offline during a traffic spike.

Use cases

How we protect your website and apps

Cloudflare’s defaults are a good start, but every site is different. Tuning is what turns generic protection into the right protection.

WAF setup and tuning

Managed rulesets for common attacks, custom rules for your application, and careful tuning to avoid blocking legitimate customers.

Attacks stopped, customers welcome

Bot and spam protection

Stop credential stuffing, scraping, fake sign-ups and form spam with bot rules and Cloudflare Turnstile — the privacy-friendly alternative to CAPTCHAs used on this very site.

Clean leads and real accounts

DDoS protection

Cloudflare’s always-on, unmetered DDoS mitigation — plus an origin lockdown so attackers can’t simply go around Cloudflare to your server.

Stay online under attack

Login and admin protection

Rate limits on logins, leaked-password detection, and Cloudflare Access with single sign-on in front of admin areas such as WordPress dashboards.

Accounts that can’t be brute-forced

Speed and reliability

Caching, modern protocols and image optimization, so security improvements make your site faster — not slower.

Faster pages for customers

Security review and monitoring

A review of DNS, TLS, security headers, exposed services and plugins, followed by regular reports of what was blocked and why.

Proof of protection for insurers and clients

How Cloudflare protects a website

When your domain uses Cloudflare, visitors connect to Cloudflare’s global network first. Malicious traffic is filtered there, and only clean requests reach your server.

  • DNS and DDoS: attack floods are absorbed by Cloudflare’s network, not your hosting plan.
  • WAF: requests are checked against managed and custom rules for known attack patterns.
  • Bot management: automated traffic is scored and challenged or blocked when it misbehaves.
  • Rate limiting: login and form endpoints can’t be hammered thousands of times per minute.
  • Origin lockdown: your server only accepts traffic from Cloudflare (for example, via Cloudflare Tunnel).

Common website threats — and how we stop them

These are the attacks we see most often against small-business websites in South Florida and everywhere else.

Is Cloudflare alone enough?

Cloudflare is a powerful layer, but security is never a single product. We also look at the basics behind it:

  • Regular updates for your CMS, plugins and server software.
  • Tested backups you can actually restore.
  • Strong, unique admin credentials with MFA or passkeys.
  • Secure code and dependency checks for custom applications.
  • Monitoring and alerting so problems are noticed quickly.

How it works

Our process

Clear steps, a written price before work begins, and in-person check-ins along the way.

  1. Assess

We review your site, hosting, DNS and current protections, and identify the biggest exposures.

  2. Onboard

We move DNS to Cloudflare if needed, enable TLS everywhere, and lock your origin server down.

  3. Tune

We apply WAF, bot and rate-limiting rules in stages, watching closely for false positives.

  4. Monitor

Ongoing reviews of security events, with plain-English reports and recommended next steps.

Questions & answers

Website & App Security (WAF): frequently asked questions

How much does DDoS protection cost?

Cloudflare includes unmetered DDoS mitigation on all of its plans, including the free plan. Your costs depend on which plan your site needs for advanced WAF, bot and rate-limiting features, plus our setup and tuning work, which we quote in writing.

How is Cloudflare different from a regular firewall?

A traditional firewall protects your office network. Cloudflare protects your website and web applications on the internet, filtering traffic at its global network before it ever reaches your hosting provider — which also makes your site faster and more resilient.

Can bots really hurt a small-business website?

Yes. Bots fill forms with spam, create fake accounts, try stolen passwords against your login page, scrape your content and pricing, and can overload small hosting plans. Good bot controls stop the bad ones while letting search engines and legitimate services through.

How do I know if my site is being attacked?

Often you don’t — until something breaks. Cloudflare’s security analytics show blocked attacks, suspicious traffic and bot activity. We review those events for you and summarize what happened in plain English.

Will Cloudflare slow down my website?

Usually the opposite. Cloudflare caches content close to your visitors and supports modern protocols, so most sites load faster after onboarding.
